    Terms of Service

    Last updated: 22 July 2026

    1. Who we are

Universal Contacts is a product of Towpath Digital Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16913912), registered office Huntingdon Boathaven, The Avenue, Godmanchester, Huntingdon, England, PE29 2AF. Using universalcontacts.co.uk means you agree to these terms.

    2. What the service is

A free live contact profile you can share by link or QR code, and optional physical NFC cards (plastic, bamboo, dual-chip, metal, or team packs) that open your profile with a tap. When you update your profile, every card and link you've shared shows the new details.

    3. Your account

Keep your sign-in details safe — you're responsible for activity on your account. You must be 16 or over and give us accurate information.

    4. Your content

The details you put on your card stay yours. You give us permission to store and display them to the people you share your card with — that's the whole point of the product. Don't publish content that's unlawful, misleading, or belongs to someone else.

    5. Acceptable use

Don't use the service to spam, impersonate, harass, or break the law. We can suspend accounts that do.

    6. Orders, payment and delivery

Card prices are shown in pounds sterling at checkout, which is handled securely by Stripe — we never see your card number. Each NFC card is printed and encoded to your profile, then posted to a UK address, normally within 5–7 working days. You'll get an email when your order is confirmed and again when it's dispatched.

Our range includes plastic, bamboo, dual-chip access and metal cards. The dual-chip access card carries a separate MIFARE access credential alongside the NFC profile chip. Whether it opens a particular gate, door or barrier depends on that system: you are responsible for confirming compatibility, and for enrolling the card into your access control, before relying on it. We do not warrant access-control compatibility with third-party hardware we have not tested, and the two chips operate independently.

    7. Pro subscription (optional)

Your live profile and any NFC card work without a subscription. Pro is an optional upgrade that adds CRM features — CSV and vCard export, a lead webhook and integrations. Pro costs £5.99 per month or £49 per year.

Included Pro. Every card comes with a period of Pro at no extra cost — 3 months with a plastic or team card, 6 months with a bamboo or dual-chip card, and 12 months with a metal card. Included Pro starts when your card order is confirmed. When it ends, your profile, card, contact-back and analytics keep working; only the Pro CRM features pause unless you subscribe.

Billing and renewal. If you choose paid Pro you give us a payment method, and your subscription renews automatically — monthly or annually, depending on the plan you pick — until you cancel. We'll email you before an annual renewal.

Cancelling. You can cancel Pro at any time from your dashboard. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for, then move back to the free service.

Refunds. Monthly Pro is not refundable for the current month. Annual Pro cancelled within 14 days of purchase, and unused, will be refunded. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Price changes. We may change Pro pricing; we'll give you reasonable notice by email before a change affects your renewal, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

After Pro ends. Your data stays in your account. Export your leads while Pro is active; after Pro ends the export and webhook features are unavailable until you resubscribe, but your profile and captured leads remain.

Referrals. When someone you refer places their first paid order, we add one free month of Pro to your account. Free sign-ups don't trigger the reward, self-referrals don't count, and we may change or withdraw the scheme with reasonable notice — any months you've already earned stay yours.

    8. Cancellations, returns and refunds

See our Refunds & returns policy. Faulty or lost cards are replaced or refunded; personalised cards have limited change-of-mind rights once production starts. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

    9. Service changes and availability

We work hard to keep the service up, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. We may improve or change features over time; if we ever discontinue the service we'll give you reasonable notice to export your details.

Where our marketing says "lifetime", "forever" or "free forever", that means the lifetime of the Universal Contacts service: your profile and cards keep working for as long as we operate the profile service. If we ever wind the service down, we'll give you reasonable notice to export your details, as above.

    10. Liability

We're liable where the law says we are — including for faulty goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — but we're not liable for losses caused by things outside our reasonable control, or for business losses from using a free service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

    11. Ending things

You can delete your account whenever you like from your dashboard. Your profile and cards stop resolving straight away, and we then remove your personal data, keeping only the limited records we are legally required to retain (tax, accounting and fraud prevention) for their statutory periods — see our Privacy Policy. We can close accounts that break these terms.

    12. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

    13. Contact
